1. Review the incoming material and project inputs

  2. material and color references
  3. measurable requirements
  4. visual acceptance criteria
  5. inspection stages and sampling approach

When comparing manufacturers, ask:

  • Which requirements can be demonstrated with samples or records?
  • How are visual standards communicated between buyer and factory?
  • How are defects, rework, or uncertain results discussed?
  • Which claims require independent verification?
  • What changes between prototype review and production approval?

The quality of the answer matters. A credible supplier should be able to distinguish documented practice from a proposed project plan.
